The mission of The Greatest Generations Foundation (T.G.G.F) is to promote recognition and respect for U.S. and allied war veterans while enhancing historical education for today’s youth. T.G.G.F accomplishes this mission through the following objectives: (1) to provide the opportunity for veterans to return to their former battlefields so that they may achieve some measure of closure on their war experiences and to provide a forum for sharing their stories; (2) to educate the community and youth of all ages about war, the veteran experience and key historical events so that they may understand each veteran’s individual experiences in a broader historical context. Youth learn about these experiences by traveling to important historical sites and understanding their relevance first-hand; (3) to reconnect with descendents of liberated peoples and to foster international and cross-cultural exchange. The dedication and bravery of these veterans must never be forgotten, nor should the value of their deeds be allowed to disappear into the annals of history.
