Take Living History Back to School Day
Our most successful educational program, Take Living History Back to School is designed to enhance the knowledge of historical events in a classroom environment. For the past five years we have visited many schools in the US, Europe and Australia to talk with children and teens about military events from the 20th century. All ages and ability levels benefit as the program is developmentally appropriate for each grade level. Veterans visit classrooms, grades one to twelve to personally share their stories, answer questions, and become the living history that children read in their books. This program may be implemented in conjunction with or without the Traveling Museum.

World War II Traveling Museum
The museum is a dynamic educational resource serving the teachers and students from grade school through the post-graduate level. Exhibitions and programs allow students from all backgrounds to explore the values and beliefs — the universal concepts — that Americans and their Allies embraced during World War II through a mobile museum. Utilizing an object-based learning experience, educational technology, and world-class exhibits, the Museum uses its rich collection of artifacts and archives to take history beyond the pages of textbooks and into the hands of curious students. This mobile program provides special on-site workshops, outreach programming, film and lecture series, and our new distance learning initiative allowing young visitors to experience the lessons of teamwork, optimism, courage, and sacrifice that led to the Allied victory.

Center for International Studies
The stories we tell are the narratives of life, spanning centuries and connecting generations. Stories are the vessels in which we carry our history and traditions, values and lessons, hopes and dreams. Storytelling encompasses virtually every facet of human endeavor. This program offers a range of digital services to assist individuals, organizations, and educational institutions around the world in documenting the stories of Non-American military veterans comprised of World War II, Korea and Vietnam, while promoting the growth of military history in foreign institutions and fostering strong relationships between international organizations and educational institutions to ensure the ongoing training of future generations of scholars to promote and build a better world.
