Reconnect Our History - In our post-modern world of perpetual hurry, it is a rare phenomenon when a historical event—even the greatest of them — maintains our interest for long. Yet, sixty-five years have passed by, and still the legacy belonging to the veterans of WWII is hailed as incomparable. Christened the “Greatest Generation”, these heroes represent an age cherished not only by historians and storytellers, but more importantly, by the wide array of individuals that shape the ever-dynamic generation of today.  Sadly, though, many of those whose times are thus remembered have lived without acknowledgement.

Their stories remain untold. Even worse, they have yet to find closure for themselves. More often than not, these heroes remain invisible to the world, unrecognized for the invaluable role they played at such great cost to themselves. Through Reconnect, veterans are brought back to the battlefield on which they fought, chronicling their experiences and emotions, and sharing history first hand. This powerful program is often the closure needed for so many veterans.

One Gold Star- World War II Veterans are brought to Washington DC to visit the war memorial and bring history to local youth. Completed 60 years after the war ended, the WWII Memorial honors the 16 million men and women who One Gold Starserved. Since its completion, only a small proportion of World War II veterans have been able to visit this memorial, until now. We believe these journeys allow Veterans who find traveling alone difficult due to health concerns or other restrictions, to experience the gratitude of today's generation. In addition, our One Gold Star program allows Veterans to experience the memorial together, giving them an opportunity to share stories, and connect with one another.

Connecting Generations - A unique partnership was formed between College of the Ozarks and The Greatest Generations Foundation in 2008 to provide once-in-a-lifetime experiences for students and World War II veteran. The Greatest Connecting GenerationsGenerations Foundation’s mission is to take Veterans back to the battlefields where they fought and to help educate the younger generation about the sacrifices of American soldiers so that their stories will never be forgotten. This rich, educational journey provides a life changing experience for American students, who not only learn volumes of history from firsthand participants, but grow to love and appreciate them as well. The students who have participated in the Connecting Generations Patriotic Education Program have returned with renewed respect for Veterans and a dramatically increased love for their country.
